Presented by Fat Village Arts District at FATVillage

“Inhabited” will feature 16 artists who will uniquely explore the concept of a dwelling, by creating structures that a body or an idea can reside within. The exhibition will be uniquely situated within the Projects Contemporary Art Space in FATVillage, a spacious 8,000 square foot warehouse space, that will be transformed into a temporary village and interactive environment.

Inhabited is the debut show for the newly formed C3 Collective, comprised of independent contemporary curators Kara Walker Tomé of Palm Beach County; and Leah Brown and Lisa Rockford of Broward County.

Leah, Lisa, and Kara set out to make their inaugural exhibition for C3 have significant public impact via the creation of a complex conceptual theme, and a non-traditional exhibition format, wherein audience interaction with the work, (both physical and philosophical,) is a primary goal. As part of their collaborative curation, Leah, Lisa and Kara each selected artists that they have worked with in the past and have great respect for, due to their daring and inventive approaches to large scale installation  The artists were presented with the exhibition theme, and invited to submit a proposal for a site-specific work that the audience could “Inhabit.” Most of the installations are being created specifically for this exhibition, while some works are a revitalized version of a former work, in response to the space.
