As a Matter of Black Exhibition
Bailey Contemporary Arts • Central and East Galleries
MUCE presents its annual exhibition “As a Matter of Black, a Seat at the Table.” This show is a collective of three visual artists that explores the table as a constant to discuss a seat at the table in the context of family, food, policy and celebration of the Black life experience. Three artists bring the concept to life through visual painting, sculpture, and storytelling. A table installation is included as part of the exhibit and utilized as an interactive art piece during the opening reception. Opening ceremony (Jan 4, 2019) includes dinner reception from local Pompano chef, which includes Q&A with visual artists and Chef to discuss what a seat at the table looks like intergenerationally.
