Duration: July 14 – 18, 2014 OR August 4 - August 8, 2014
Hours: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
*No refunds are given once the first day has started.
All campers must be completing grades 3, 4, or 5 (and within
ages 8 – 12).
Lunch: 12 noon – 12:45 p.m. Non-refrigerated storage is available (please do not send egg or
mayonnaise-based products.) The campus cafeteria is open. Sandwiches, wraps, and burgers
Weather: Please ensure that your camper has appropriate attire. Each day will be split between
activities indoors in an air-conditioned facility and outdoors. We recommend that your camper dress
comfortably for the outdoors, and bring a layer for indoors.
Absences: If your child will not attend camp on a specific day, please notify the Planetarium as soon
as possible by calling 954-201-6681. There will not be a refund for any missed days.
Media Release: By signing your child up for SPACE CAMP, you authorize the Buehler Planetarium &
Observatory and Broward College to photograph and/or videotape your child for publicity purposes.
Please note that these materials will not be sold or loaned and will be used only to promote the
Buehler Planetarium & Observatory and/or Broward College.
Personal Items: All personal items brought to the program are your child’s responsibility and must
be labeled with the child’s name. Broward College is not responsible for lost or stolen items. The
Planetarium makes every reasonable attempt to safeguard our campers’ possessions. However, we
suggest that students leave personal items, especially electronics and toys, at home. If camp staff
determines that the presence of these items is disruptive to the class, they will be confiscated and
held until the end of the day. Please understand that the Planetarium cannot be held responsible for
the loss, destruction, or theft of any personal items (i.e. clothing, book bags or purses, toys, games,
electronic devices, cellphones, or money) your child may bring to camp.
Pickup and Drop off: Campers may be dropped off up from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and picked up
at 3:00 p.m. Campers must be picked up no later than 3:30 p.m. Please park at the Planetarium, and
come into the lobby to sign in/out your camper. Please note: a $25 late charge may apply for late pick-up.
Dismissal: Campers may be dismissed from the camp for non-payment of fees, behavior and/or
violation of Broward College and SPACE CAMP’s rules and policies. No refunds will be given in the
event of dismissal.
Cancellation: Broward College and the Buehler Planetarium & Observatory reserve the right to
cancel camps due to low enrollment, college emergencies or other extenuating circumstances. You
will be notified if this occurs and sent a complete refund within 10-15 business days.
