Opening Reception in the Art Gallery at 6:00 p.m. Our exhibit, “Sankofa: Looking Forward, Reaching Back,” features work by local professional artists, as well as talented high school students from across Broward County. Pieces in the exhibit illustrate how we must learn from the past to ensure a strong future. The artwork is complemented by historical items on loan from the African American Research Library and Cultural Center. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
Concert and Poetry in the Theatre at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy live music by the Gary Palmer Band and the nationally renowned Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble, along with performances by youth poets.
