All are welcome at this very special original Salon concert that showcases the vibrancy of South Florida and its artisans. Enjoy performances from a range of genres by entertainers representing the diversity of our community.  Phillip Dunlap, jazz piano, was born in Mason City, Iowa and moved to the metropolitan area of Edwardsville in 2000 to study jazz at Southern Illinois University. While there, he studied with pianist Reggie Thomas. Mr Dunlap earned a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance as well as music theory/composition, and a master’s degree in jazz performance. When he is not concertizing Mr. Dunlap also serves as the Director of the Broward County Cultural Division. He resides in Fort Lauderdale. He will perform well known jazz standards including “St. Louis Blues,” “Stardust,” and “Body and Soul.”

Eglise Gutierrez, soprano, Eglise Gutiérrez is a Cuban American who studied voice in Cuba, in Miami with Manny Perez, and at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia from which she graduated in 2004. She won the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition,  the Montserrat Caballé International Singing Competition, and the Marian Anderson Prize for Emerging Classical Artists. She has performed at the world’s leading opera houses. Eglise is a resident of Miami. She will sing select Cuban Arias and the beloved  Zarzuela “Maria La O.”

Nikki Kidd, vocalist, began singing when she was four and grew up singing gospel in church, classical in school, and reggae, rock, and R&B later. Kidd studied studio music and jazz voice at the University of Miami’s esteemed Frost School of Music. Kidd has shared the stage with Gloria Estefan, Michael Bublé, KC and the Sunshine Band. Nikki is a native of Miami Beach and lives in Wilton Manors.  She will sing “A Long Walk Home,” “ All Night Long,” “Bag Lady,” and  “A Night in Tunisia.”

Brazilian Voices, vocal ensemble, is a Broward County based non-profit organization comprised of Brazilian women that aspires to incorporate the Brazilian culture into their performances at community and philanthropic events. The group often performs for seniors and others who would lack access to the arts. They will perform famous Sambas and Bossa Novas including the “Girl from Ipanema,” and “Desafinado.”

General Admission Tickets are $35.00 are now $20.00 for South Florida residents through May 23, 2024.
