South Side Cultural Arts Center’s Premier Juried Art Exhibit

The Friends of South Side is pleased to announce a call for entries into a local juried exhibition. The exhibition will be the first juried exhibit in the newly renovated and reopened historic South Side School, which is now serving the community as the South Side Cultural Arts Center.

Eligibility: The exhibition is open to all artists working in all hangable art media, including but not limited to painting/drawing, printmaking and photography.

Jury Process: A panel of judges representing the Friends of South Side will select 12 -15 pieces for exhibition. The Best in Show entry will receive a one month long exhibition of their own work at the Center. Accepted artists will be notified by May 25, 2018.

Entries: There is no entry fee. Each artist may submit up to three works via email. Each piece should be sent as it’s own email and attached as a high resolution JPG. Please place the artist’s name and image name as the subject of your email. In the body of the email please include the artist’s name, brief bio, phone number, medium used, and size of the piece. Please send all submissions to info@southsidearts.org

ENTRY DEADLINE IS MAY 22, 2018.

Exhibition details: There will be an opening night reception June 16, 2018. The exhibit will hang for the remainder of June, July and August. The winning artist’s solo exhibit will be for the month of September. Sales will be encouraged. Friends of South Side will retain a 15% commission on all art sold during the exhibit, which will go towards a scholarship fund for the Center. The artist will receive the balance.

Intake: The selected pieces of art must be brought to the Center between May 28th and June 1st. Artwork that can not be delivered during this time is ineligible.

Intellectual Property Rights & Permission: Images submitted and images taken of the exhibition may be used on websites, print advertising and any other promotional materials deemed necessary by the Friends of South Side and the South Side Cultural Arts Center. By entering the exhibition, artists warrant that all artwork they submit for jurying is original to them and does not infringe on any other artist’s or entity’s copyrighted or trademarked work(s).
