Broward County has this amazing diverse culture that’s like a big, box of crayons; it’s full of vibrant colors. The Caribbean community here adds to this flavorful melting pot in more ways than one. The City of Lauderhill is believed to have the largest Jamaican population in the United States. Residents call it fondly as “Jamaican Hill.”

Ever wanted a taste of Jamaica, but never have had the chance to visit the island nation? No worries. You can experience authentic food and music to vibe out to this Sunday at the 13th annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival. Dubbed as the largest Caribbean shindig in the U.S., this daylong festival draws up to 14,000 attendees.

Event activities include a food court area where hearty meats are spiced up with jerk, even jerk ice cream is available. A Publix Cook-Off Pavilion, chefs will compete for prizes and offer demonstrations. The impressive live-music lineup features mega stars such as Inner Circle, Luciano Tarrus Riley, Tydal, Code Red Band, and Chris “Johnny” Daley among others. Sunday’s event will also pay tribute to the late and legendary John Holt.
