If you’re a Broward local, the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) feels like home in a way. I always felt a sigh of relief stepping onto that ocean blue carpet and saying hello to the tropical fish in the terminals when coming home for Christmas while I was away in college. Not only do you look forward to feeling that warmth on your skin, but the smiling faces that are picking you up in arrivals.

IMG_0530 (1)The communications team at FLL has captured those welcoming faces by participating in the community art project, Inside Out. As you drive into the arrivals area, you are greeted by 200 photos of smiling faces, which include airport employees from both FLL and The North Perry Airport. These are the “Faces of Aviation” and represent the happy employees who take a lot of pride in serving Broward County.

“I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of this because I won’t be here for the 200th anniversary!” Celena Saucedo, Director of Administration of the Aviation Department said.

Their team is going to try to leave up the photos as long as they can. But even though the black and white paper won’t last forever, it’s comforting to know that the friendly faces at the airport will.
