A 9-year-old pianist and a 12-year-old singer-dancer are among the more than 100 entertainers who will take the stage for “WE”…The Passion & Rhythm of the People on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Au-Rene Theatre.

Brandon Goldberg and Maisy Surman, the youngest members of the cast, will perform the jazz and pop standard “You Make Me Feel So Young” as part of the production celebrating Broward County’s 100th anniversary.

“It’s a great choice. It really does fit the theme of the show,” said Goldberg, who lives in Highland Lakes in Miami-Dade County.

The young pianist, who began playing by ear when he was 3 years old, will also play Felix Mendelssohn’s lively “Spinning Song.” “I like how it surprises you through each element,” he said.

Surman, of Davie, said she has fun performing “You Make Me Feel So Young.” “It gets you in the mood to dance and smile,” the veteran of many local theater productions, including the musical “Annie” in which she played the title role, said. She also performed in the “Cirque Dreams Broadway” celebration of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ 20th anniversary in 2011.
