The Plantation Junior Woman’s Club (PJWC) was founded in 1960 and its membership is made up of active women in the community. One of many goals of the PJWC is the betterment of the community through various service projects.

One of our major projects is our annual Art in the Park which started in 1966. The art show is very special to us and we want everyone in Plantation to feel a part of it. All of the money we raise during the event goes right back to our local community. Art in the Park could not be a reality without the support of our wonderful members and our community.

In 1982, one of the members of the PJWC undertook a project to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions and laid the groundwork for what would become the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida.  Many years later, the PJWC continues to support Make-A-Wish through an annual event and participates with Make-A-Wish in their events (ex. Walk For Wishes).  Over the years, PJWC has raised over $600,000 for this worthy cause.

Besides Art in the Park and Make-A-Wish, the PJWC has hosted other fundraising projects such as Festival of Treasures, tennis tournaments, Women in Business expo and just direct giving to other local non-profits.

Becoming a PJWC member is a wonderful experience. You will meet and become friends with an amazing group of women. We are members because we all want the same thing. We want to help others and to give  back to our community.
