Virtual Drum Leaf Binding

This Drumleaf book is a simple glued structure that lays incredibly flat and eliminates the need to print on the front and back of a sheet of paper. Students will learn the properties of book materials, how to bind pages together, and how to create both a paper and leather softcover that drop out of the way to allow a flat open surface. Discussion will focus on variations of the binding, advantages to this binding, and problem solving. It’s ideal for photographers, printmakers, zinesters, or anyone that just wants to make a beautiful book. No previous book experience is required!
