Wilton Manors, FL – Stonewall Pride Wilton Manors (formally Stonewall Summer Pride) held on Saturday June 21, 2014, announced today that internationally known recording superstar Sheila E will be the headlining act of this year’s festival. Additional acts include The Jai Rose Band, Philip Alexander, Jayquan & Rych Niel along with other local favorites.

This year’s festival will include 3 stages strategically placed along Wilton Drive from between 20th Street and 5 Points, a karaoke stage, hundreds of exhibitors, bars and twilight parade. Home Depot will present a larger than ever Kids Zone with bounce houses, slides and many arts and crafts activities staffed by Home Depot employees.

The theme will be Pride In Paradise with the help of Bobby Keiser and the staff of Panache Style who will decorate the drive as a tropical paradise.

Finally this year, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots known as the birth of the Pride, Following the twilight parade, drag queens and drag kings from all over the community and the world will attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the Longest Line of Dancing Drag Queens. A minimum of 150 participants will dance in unison in a single file line to the disco classic “I Will Survive” for 5 minutes to break to the world record. In addition, participants will be sponsored much like a walk-a-thon raising money for their favorite charity. This event will bring the community together in unity to help celebrate the accomplishments of the LGBT community, from being persecuted in the streets to dancing in the streets enjoying the freedom earn over the last 45 years.
