Nova Singers Concert: Jubilate Deo

Join the Nova Singers for a concert featuring Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo, a global choral interpretation of Psalm 100 “Oh, be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands.”

This melodic, contemporary work uses a wide spectrum of musical influences, with seven movements performed in seven languages, reflecting the musical influence of those cultures. The result is a moving global celebration of unity and joy.

The chorus, under the direction of Chuck Stanley, will also sing other works celebrating peace and joy, including “Shalom,” also by Dan Forrest, “Wanting Memories,” by Ysaye M. Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock, and Leonard Cohen’s classic “Hallelujah.” The chorus will be accompanied by pianist Anthony Ciotti and a chamber orchestra.

The concert will be performed three times, in three different venues:

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children 12 and younger, plus students any age with school ID, are admitted free. Advance tickets are available at http://tinyurl.com/NovaMarchConcerts

The Nova Singers is Nova Southeastern University’s community chorus, whose members range from Nova undergraduate students to senior members of the local community.
