Carmina Burana

The Master Chorale will perform the piece most requested by our audiences: Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.  Rhythmic, pulsating and often irreverent, Carmina is a feast for the senses.  In these performances, the Master Chorale will be joined by the Girl Choir of South Florida and accompanied by piano and percussion.

The program will open with Jake Runestad’s As Long As We Are Here, a piece the Master Chorale commissioned for performance in 2020.  When COVID-19 forced its premiere to be canceled, the Master Chorale invited friends to join them in recording the piece virtually.  Performed by 400 singers from 32 states and 10 countries, the piece can be found on YouTube.  Its first live performance will take place at these concerts.

Accompanied by the University of Miami Percussion Ensemble and piano.
