Hear the music of composer Kevin Wilt performed by the Con Brio String Quartet and guest percussionist Matthew Nichols at Rule G Brewing Co. in Coconut Creek, Florida. This event features several world premieres and a repeat performance of Tavern Music. This multi-part piece for string quartet is inspired by Irish, Celtic, Scottish, and other pub musical traditions, as well as the ways those traditions have been filtered through fantasy stories such as Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and The Name of the Wind. Although it is a piece written for a classical string quartet, it is very much written to be enjoyed by a general audience unfamiliar with classical music.
Funded in part by the Broward County Cultural Division’s Artist Support Grant.
