Artists in Action! talk with Natalya Laskis

Hear visual Natalya Laskis speak about her work, creative inspirations, and recent projects and then join the Last Saturday Artwalk in FLagler Village and FAT Village with open galleries, artist studio and more. Talk is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.

Natalya Laskis was born 1980 in Miami, Florida. She received a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD in 2002 and attended the New World School of the Arts in Miami. Much of Laskis’ paintings present representational snapshots of social groups, other works utilize an abstracted and emotionally-tuned visual language that transcend narrative with loosened application of paint.

Select solo exhibitions include What is love at Galleria Glance, Turin, Italy 2012. Shortness of Breath at Locust Projects, Miami, FL 2012. and American Odyssey at Frederic Snitzer Gallery, Miami 2009. Laskis has been included in group exhibitions David Castillo Gallery, Miami, FL, 2008, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boca Raton, 2009 and Fred Snitzer Gallery at The Armory, New York, NY, 2011. Her work has also appeared at Nada Art Fair, Miami Beach, 2013-2014. She is represented by CANCIO Contemporary Miami/ New York. Laskis currently shares her time between West Palm Beach and New York City.

Each Artists in Action! presenter is also commissioned by Girls’ Club to produce a limited edition multiple for sale. These editions are affordably priced and welcome new, emerging collectors to engage with local artists and add to or start a contemporary art collection of their own!
