Miramar Cultural Center is searching for artists and graphic designers to enter our poster design contest. The winning poster will be used as the official poster of MCC’s highly anticipated production of Dreamgirls. A panel of visual artists and theatre professionals will choose a winner and four honorable mentions. The five chosen posters will be displayed in MCC’s Ansin Family Art Gallery from July 7-August 31, 2017 alongside other influential posters from Broadway’s history. The designers whose posters are displayed will receive full credit for their work, as well as a copy of any and all merchandise made with their respective posters. This is a key opportunity for visibility on MCC’s website and social media.
Artwork, along with a one-page application available at miramarculturalcenter.org, must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 18, 2017. There is no submission fee. Full details are in the email/flyer below with links to more information on our website.
We invite visual artists of all ages and all styles to submit an original poster design for our Broadway Festival of South Florida production of Dreamgirls. This poster design contest is part of our inaugural Broadway Festival of South Florida taking place July 21-23, 2017 at Miramar Cultural Center. Festival highlights include audition workshops and master classes, a free community theatre fair, two performances of Dreamgirls, an art gallery exhibition of Broadway posters featuring poster design contest finalists and winner, and “Broadway Idol”, a singing competition.
