Knight Prototype Fund call on Accurate Information

Knight Foundation, Democracy Fund and Rita Allen Foundation today launched an open call for ideas that answer the question: How might we improve the flow of accurate information? We’re offering a share of $1 million for early-stage ideas that address concerns about the spread of misinformation and build trust in journalism. Technologists, journalists, designers, teachers, researchers and others who have diverse perspectives on how to solve this challenge are welcome to apply. We expect to award funding up to $50,000 for each idea. Knight Foundation is running the call through the newly relaunched Knight Prototype Fund, which supports early-stage media and information ideas. Knight released a new report on Friday detailing lessons from the Prototype Fund, which is shifting from a general call for ideas to a themed approach.
