Seeking proposals for site-specific or existing works of art for the University of North Florida’s Skinner-Jones Hall, the Art in State Buildings Public Art program invites professional artists and designers aged 18 and up to create or submit public artwork for the main lobby entrance’s staircase. Budgeted at $44,000, the project will give preference to artwork relating to the field of engineering and/or construction. Three finalists will receive a $1,500 design stipend to develop a design for site-specific artwork.
Professional artists eligible to work in the U.S. may apply – but only if he or she fulfills two of the following criteria. Has the artist received awards, grants or fellowships? Has the artist completed a large-scale public commission? Has the artist been selected for a one-person museum exhibition within the last 5 years? Has the artist’s artwork been included in private, public, corporate or museum collections?
To apply, submit a current professional resume, a letter of interest and 1 to 20 digital images of relevant (and priced) artwork via Call for Entry (CaFÉ).
