Applications for the 2020 cycle of artists in residence are open April 1 – June 1, 2019. Visual artists, musicians, composers, choreographers, writers, film makers and scholars are invited to apply to spend a month in the Everglades National Park, experiencing the vast wilderness and epic expanse of this majestic and fragile ecosystem.
Selected artists are provided a furnished, air-conditioned live/work space, 24/7 access to the Everglades, introductions to park rangers, scientists, biologists, artists, community leaders, and/or environmental advocates; and a $1,000 stipend.
Applications are reviewed by a prominent panel drawn from varying fields of expertise as professional artists, curators or educators in their designated disciplines, along with Everglades National Park personnel.
Deadline for applications is June 1, 2019, at midnight.
