ANITA LOVITT PAINTER, DESIGNER, TEACHER, COLLABORATIVE ARTIST
Anita Lovitt graduated from Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) with top honors and a degree in Illustration. She also studied with some legendary teachers (design with Milton Glaser at School of Visual Arts in New York, watercolor with Charles Reid in workshops, and anatomy with Robert Beverly Hale at the Art Students League in New York City). Her award-winning illustration, painting and design have appeared in children’s books, greeting cards, surface designs and graphic design. In 2006 Anita worked with a team of counselors to produce a series of illustrative legacy quilts for Project Hope to document the impacts of Hurricane Wilma on local communities. She is the creator of the large Dancing Pineapples Mural which graces the entrace to Pineapple Grove in downtown Delray Beach, as well as numerous private and public commissions. Her favorite medium, however, is watercolor.
Ms. Lovitt has taught drawing and painting for many years and is also a talented digital artist. She is a gifted teacher with a keen understanding of how language and image work together. She is currently serving as a member of the Public Art Advisory Board of Delray Beach
