    Deering Estate at Cutler

Deering Estate at Cutler is a 444-acre estate established by philanthropist Charles Deering (1852-1927). It is dedicated to the preservation of globally endangered species of animal and plant life, as well as supporting and exhibiting the fine arts. Rare and native plants thrive here, including orchids, bromeliads, ferns, and more than 40 species of trees. A variety of wildlife, such as gray foxes, spotted skunks, squirrels, snakes, butterflies, and birds inhabit the area. Through daily Natural Areas Tours, the Estate's education and interpretive staff guides visitors through these protected habitats. Deering Estate's various art programs and exhibits include the Estate's Permanent Collection, Art on Loan (their semi-permanent and temporary exhibit), Artist Village (located in the historic outbuildings), Artist in Residence Program, and Creative Art Camps.
