Kick off the summer at the City of Fort Lauderdale’s 4th Annual Great American Beach Party on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Fort Lauderdale Beach at A1A and Las Olas Boulevard Join us for this free event as a portion of Fort Lauderdale’s world famous A1A is transformed into an entertainment mecca, featuring music, live performances, and activities for the entire family

Live bands will perform on two stages throughout the day entertaining crowds with classic oldies, rock n’ roll, ‘80s hits, smooth jazz, and rhythm and blues Featured artists will include Across the Universe (Beatles Tribute Band); Tim Bluntson (80’s Tribute Band); The Inverted (Classic Rock); Riverside Dixieland Band (Jazz); Nikki Kidd (R&B); the Bahamas Junkanoo Revue; and Boogie Knights (Disco Revival)

Children and adults will enjoy an array of activities including a beach water slide, bounce houses, face painting, hula-hoop, limbo and Twister contests, a water balloon toss, and a sandcastle-building competition

The event will also include a classic car show with more than 50 vintage hot rods, ragtops and muscle cars, plus an art show featuring displays and exhibits from local artists, including up-and -oming chalk artists

In commemoration of Memorial Day Weekend, a military tribute will take place to honor the men and women who serve our country in the United States Armed Forces

To top off the evening, event-goers will be treated to a special screening of a movie presented by the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival
