The Christine E. Lynn Heart & Vascular Institute is ranked in the top 5% in the nation for cardiac and stroke for 2011 by HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization. The 2011 awards include #1 in Florida for overall cardiac services and cardiac surgery, and #1 in Florida for treatment of stroke. This marks the second year in a row that the Institution is ranked number one in the state of Florida for cardiac surgery. The Institute was named one of the Top 25 Hospitals with Great Cardiovascular Programs for 2010 by Becker’s Hospital Review along with some of the most well-regarded hospitals and health systems in the United States; including Duke University Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The Institute is also ranked in the top 9% of open heart programs nationally, by the National Cardiac Database. Over 90% of our open-heart procedures are performed off-pump which means a reduced risk of stroke, kidney failure and infection for patients.
