Music written in Austria under the last Hapsburg Emperor, Franz Joseph (1813-1916), mirrored the multi-lingual and multi-cultural makeup of the Empire. Students of Florida International University's Keyboard Department will present a program of works by the Czech-Bohemians Dvorak and Korngold, the Hungarians Liszt and Dohnayi, the adopted sons Beethoven and Brahms, and the quintessential Schubert and innovative Schoenberg.
