Local Students Create Works of Art with Recycled, Found Objects

The Education Fund’s Silent Art Auction Returns to the Design District May 24

The Education Fund’s annual charity auction,“The Art of Found Objects,” will showcase more than 200 one-of-a-kind pieces of art work created by Miami-Dade County public school students and teachers representing nearly 50 schools. Each year, this exclusive event combines the power of imagination with the ultimate recycling program. The art work is crafted from materials provided by the Education Fund’s Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials, a warehouse stocked with donated supplies where local public school teachers can shop for free.

In addition to the silent auction, the event will feature live music, an open bar by Bacardi, an epicurean feast, as well as bids on special items and luxury vacation packages. 20 extraordinary community leaders who graduated from Miami-Dade County public schools will be honored at the event.
