DANCE

This event will feature new and talented artists who are serious about preserving indo-Caribbean arts via music and dance. Indo-Caribbeans are Indians living in the Caribbean who ancestor came from Trinidad, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and other parts of the Caribbean and South America.

Dance styles such as Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Rajdhar, Folk, & Chutney will be featured in an array of dance sequences which will fuse the different styles and aspect of dances.
The program is 3 part program. The first part of the program will feature the different dance styles which will fuse the different styles and aspect of dances. Both live and record music will be used. The second part of the program will feature the headliner international singer Artiste Anjali. Artiste Anjali will sings with be accompaniment Harmonium, dhantal, dholak and tabla. She is a classical singer who writes and composes her own music.
The third part feature Drums of our culture –Thappua, Tassa, tabla, and dholak. These drummers will fuse the sounds in a collaboration of musical overture. The idea is to create a clash of the drums.
Finally the grand finale all dancers will be reintroduced to perform with the feet what the hands are playing on the drums and the audience is encouraged to participate.
