Three of the biggest names in opera come together for a once in a lifetime performance. Opera superstar Anna Netrebko returns to Berlins stunning Waldbuhne, one of the worlds most impressive open stages. Against this amazing backdrop, she is joined by her husband, baritone Erwin Schrott and star tenor Jonas Kaufman in a program that includes famous duets from Bernsteins West Side Story, Gershwins Porgy and Bess and Puccinis Manon Lescaut, as well as popular Tango duets and arias from Mozart (Leporellos aria from Don Giovanni) and excerpts from Gounods Faust. Accompanying the singers, Marco Armiliato conducts the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. About Anna Netrebko Anna Netrebko is no longer just the darling of the opera world: she is enchanting audiences around the globe while continuing to cultivate the respect and admiration of operas most devoted and demanding fans. Her beautiful, dark, and distinctive voice, together with her elegant and alluring stage presence, makes it all but impossible to look away when she is performing. Ms. Netrebko has gone on to appear with nearly all of the worlds great opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, Londons Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Vienna State Opera, the Paris Opera, the Zurich Opera, the Berlin State Opera, and Munichs Bavarian State Opera. About Jonas Kaufmann At 42, Jonas Kaufmann, the German tenor is one of the busiest and most celebrated singers in opera. His career has developed with extraordinary speed. The swiftness of his rise to prominence speaks both to his great talent and bankability. Mr. Kaufmann has quickly become a key component of artistic plans for the Metropolitan Opera and other major companies. His recent solo recital at the Met is the latest example of his meteoric rise in the opera world. About Erwin Schrott Uruguayan bass-baritone Erwin Schrott has praise from both audiences and critics for his powerful and versatile singing as well as his captivating performances especially in roles by Mozart. He made his professional debut in Montevideo at the age of 22. His breakthrough came in 1998 when he won both the jury and audience prizes at the 1998 Operalia, a competition run by Placido Domingo. He has gone on to play many roles in major opera houses in both Europe and the US.
