Brazil's premier artists take the stage in JOURNEY TO BRASIL! featuring The Miami Symphony Orchestra, led by Eduardo Marturet, acclaimed Brazilian pianist Simone Leitao and special guest musicians from the renowned Youth Orchestra of Bahia. Rising Star Conductor, 21-year old Yuri Azevedo makes his U.S. conducting debut on a program that includes a U.S. premiere by Latin Grammy nominated prolific composer Andre Mehmari. The two-night engagement takes place Dec. 10, 2011 at the Arsht Center's Knight Concert Hall and Dec. 11, 2011 at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center.
