Artists Weekend Workshop: Using the Internet to Build Community,
Promote Your Work and Increase Administrative Effectiveness
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward County Cultural Division invites Broward-resident artists of all disciplines and creative endeavors to attend a series of informational meetings on April 6, April 19 and May 5, 2011 to learn about the application process for Creative Capital’s transformative seminar- Internet for Artists Weekend Workshop: Using the Internet to Build Community, Promote Your Work and Increase Administrative Effectiveness. Twenty-four Broward County artists, will be selected through a Call to Artist application process to attend the Creative Capital Seminar in November.
The Broward Cultural Division is one of nineteen national recipients of the 2011 Workshop Subsidy Grants from Creative Capital's Professional Development Program (PDP) to present this seminar locally. To be considered, Broward artists will be submitting proposals to participate in the seminar by an online application. Participants will be chosen by a competitive review and panel selection process. The Division is delighted to be able to offer 24 Broward artists this one-time opportunity to train with Creative Capital’s faculty. These information sessions will prepare Broward’s performing and media artists, writers, musicians, dancers, and visual artists for this opportunity.

Creative Capital is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing adventurous projects in five disciplines: Emerging Fields, Film/Video, Innovative Literature, and Performing and Visual Arts. Working in long-term partnership with artists, Creative Capital's pioneering approach to support combines funding, counsel and career development services to enable a project's success and foster a sustainable practice for its grantees. In its first decade, Creative Capital has committed more than $20 million in financial and advisory support to 325 projects representing 406 artists and has reached an additional 3,500 artists in more than 50 communities around the country through its Professional Development Program.
