The Gold Coast Watercolor Society, South Florida’s largest watercolor organization, is holding its Annual "Florida Focus" Juried Exhibition at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, from April 3rd to April 22nd, 2011. 

The show, which will be judged by Miles Batt, NWS, AWS, Watercolor USA Honor Society, award-winning artist, teacher and author, will have its opening reception on Thursday, April 7th, from 6 pm until 8 pm. There will also be five paintings from Dillard High School students hung with our show and we will have a four piece band called “Qualified for Response” playing at the reception. They are also High School Students and they play all original songs and have a Billy Joel sound.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. 

The Gold Coast Watercolor Society, which was founded in 1976 and is the only Broward-based organization dedicated to the medium of watercolor, offers a variety of activities designed to foster the advancement the art of watercolor painting. The group hosts workshops taught by nationally recognized artists, “paint-ins” featuring live models, and lectures and demonstrations by selected artists. The approximately 200 member artists also have the opportunity to display their work at the society’s annual membership exhibition and at other juried competitions throughout the tricounty area. The group meets on the third Tuesday of every month, October through May, at 7 p.m. at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.
