    OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday February 24, 2011 6-8pm

2+3: The Artist's Organization in association with Artserve will be presenting a timely and thought provoking exhibit on the theme of "CONFLICT" from February 21, 2011 through March 12, 2011.

This exhibition, with it's commentary on war and peace, conflict and it's antidotes, is eerily timely with current events around the world being as they are. Some definitions of CONFLICT according to Merriam Webster:

"a : competitive or opposing action of incompatibles : antagonistic state or action (as of divergent ideas, interests, or persons)
b: a striking or dashing together; violent collision; as, a conflict of elements or waves."

This promises to be a strong and emotional exhibition of professional artists that are committed to art and social justice. The CONFLICT works will include conflict of color and conflict of man and the environment. Among the more literal interpretations to be exhibited:
James Mastin's "Fallen Soldier", (below) life size bronze statue is one
of six pieces being installed in Savannah, Georgia.

Rolande Moorhead's "Ready For Next War", (below) imposes the stark reality of war, with dog tags of fallen soldiers.

All exhibiting artists are members of 2+3: The Artist's Organization.

2+3: The Artists’ Organization is a not-for-profit organization established in South Florida in 1987 with the support of the late sculptor Duane Hanson and the Broward Cultural Division. The group’s mission is to strengthen and expand the art world in South Florida and to encourage interaction and understanding between professional artists and the community.

The exhibit hours are Monday-Saturday 9-5, Sunday by Appointment.

This is a great show whose theme is "Conflict." Conflict is depicted in subject matter, colors and media. Thoroughly enjoyed the quality of art and the variety presented by the 2+3 professional... Expand
