Chalk It Up for Art!!

1st Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival

March 12, 2011 9am to 3pm



Sponsored by City of Coral Springs Special Events

Professional or amateur artists or teams of up to 4 artist - adults, teens or children (age 6 and over) are welcome to participate in the 1st Annual Chalk It Up for Art!! Festival at the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Participants will create chalk paintings on the sidewalks in front of the Museum on Saturday March 12 beginning at 9am. The Museum invites the public to come and watch the artworks being drawn.



Participants are required to register at the Museum by March 4th and need to submit a proposed drawing for approval with their applications. A chalk fee of $25 is to be submitted with the registration form. The chalk fee will be waived for artists bringing their own non oil based chalk. Professional sidewalk chalk artist Jennifer Chaparro will create a work of art onsite during the event! She will also conduct an informative "How To" workshop for registered Chalk It Up for Art!! participants on Sunday, March 6 at 2pm.



Best of Show prizes will be awarded in six categories: Elementary School grades 1 to 5, Middle School grades 6 to 8, High School grades 9 to 12, Amateur, Professional and People’s Choice.



CSMART would like to thank local art supply stores Pearl Artist and Craft Store, Jerry’s Artarama and Dick Blick for their generous donations and support for the 1st Annual Chalk It Up for Art!! Festival.
