Program I features the Company Premiere of Jerome Robbins’ Fanfare – a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II - a bright and goofy take on Benjamin Britten’s “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.” This ballet premiered on the night of the Queen’s coronation in 1953. Now it salutes the opening of MCB’s 25th Anniversary Season and the return of live music with the Opus One Orchestra. Program I also features two George Balanchine pieces, the sensual Bugaku and breathtaking Theme and Variations.
