SOLO Art Miami

A new art fair showcasing the works of individual artists will join an elite list of visual art exhibitions held in South Florida during the fall. The inaugural SOLO Art Miami art fair, presented by Medica HealthCare Plans, will run three-days November 19-21 at the renovated Miami Airport Convention Center, formerly the Double Tree Miami/Airport Hotel & Exhibition Center. More than 100 artists in such categories as claywork, digital art, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking and drawing, sculpture and metalwork, watercolor and wood are expected to exhibit in this juried show. “SOLO Art Miami is the perfect venue for the independent artist to exhibit,” said Gilda Sacasas, executive director of SOLO Art Miami and herself a noted local contemporary artist. “This fair fills a void for independent artists to promote their work, and we expect to see a wealth of new talent on display. SOLO Art Miami will also welcome the area’s most prestigious art galleries.” SOLO Art Miami will offer a VIP lounge and additional services for those who attend. The three-day art fair is expected to attract an estimated 14,000 people. SOLO Art Miami, presented by Medica HealthCare Plans, is being organized by SOLO Art Group, LLC. Gilda Sacasas, the group’s executive director, was one of the founders of Carnaval on the Mile, a three-day event with 100 participating artists and an attendance of an estimated 200,000.

      It is a fair share and a great opportunity to any local independent and outsider artists to be able to showcase their art in such an event. Ms.Sacasas has always proven to be exceptional in dealing with such affairs. Aside from being a wonderful artist she also possess the quality and unselfishness to help other artists and their art. I have no doubt that this event will be a success and even enrich the culture in South Florida in the future ahead to come. Let us all try to cooperate with the local artists,local Art Galleries as well as outsiders in this new venue and try to lift the quality of the arts in South Florida. This will enhance our community locally as well as internationally. My deepest respect to Ms. Gilda Sacasas and to Solo Art Miami. Kudos for all your efforts and the best of Luck ! Collapse
