      Under the able direction of Maestro Neil Jenkins, the one-hundred-twenty plus musicians of the Broward Symphonic Band will present their annual Sousa Concert with a variety of selections including... Expand

      Under the able direction of Maestro Neil Jenkins, the one-hundred-twenty plus musicians of the Broward Symphonic Band will present their annual Sousa Concert with a variety of selections including "Italian in Algiers" by Rossini and "Persis" by James Hosay, both exciting and vibrant pieces.Our Diva, Mora Newman, returns singing "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Embraceable You". In addition, the talented Delisa Rufus will dazzle you with the fast moving xylophone solo entitled "Xylophonia". Several Sousa marches will be included in the program along with an arrangement of "Shenandoah" by Frank Ticheli, "Trumpercussion", a stirring selection featuring a trumpet quartet and the percussion section, and "The Typewriter" by Leroy Anderson.
