Literary Feast 2010 authors participate in four unique events during the weekend:

    1. Novel Day for Students on Friday, March 19 – The authors visit Broward County high schools to discuss their books and the craft of writing. They will also announce the winners of the annual Literary Feast Short Story Contest at each school. Sponsors are Bank of America and the Josephine S. Leiser Foundation.

    2. “Women, Work & the Art of Savoir Faire” Luncheon on Friday, March 19 (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) – A new course has been added to the Literary Feast menu – a luncheon with Mireille Guiliano, author of Women, Work & the Art of Savoir Faire and French Women Don’t Get Fat. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six’s revolving Pier Top in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $65. Sponsors are Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust and AutoNation.

    3. Lit LIVE! on Saturday, March 20 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) – Authors participate in a FREE series of author talks, panel discussions and book signings with the public at Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center in Davie.

    4. A Night of Literary Feasts on Saturday, March 20 (6 p.m. – 11 p.m.) – The namesake fundraising event begins with cocktails, a silent auction and book signings at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. Guests are then treated to intimate dinner parties with the authors in private homes and upscale South Florida restaurants. Ticket packages start at $150 per person.

“Literary Feast 2010 offers something for everyone – mysteries and thrillers, scholarly observations, musings on food and design, sports and social media, as well as investigative journalism, analyses and even the Bernie Madoff scandal,” said Literary Feast Co-Chair Diane Brewer, Vice President/Private Banker at Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust.

“These events are for all ages in the community to appreciate the literary arts,” added co-chair Joe Piccirilli, a co-founder of Sound Advice and local entrepreneur. “At the same time we’re raising money for critical library programs, such as computer instruction classes, that would otherwise be eliminated in this tough economic climate.”
