Add Review/CommentDykewomon defines her work as "stories of lesbian struggle, celebration and survival." The ground breaking Riverfinger Woman was published in 1974 under her birth name, Elana Nachman. Her second book, They Will Know Me By My Teeth, a collection of short stories and poems, was published in 1976 under the name Elana Dykewomon. Ms. Dykewomon describes her name change as "an expression of my strong commitment to the lesbian community and a way to keep myself honest."
