Laura Wyatt, author of Those Outrageous Owls, will sign her book in the Gift Shop at Flamingo Gardens on December 20. Reading the book, you will learn why owls eyes are so big, when they sleep, why hoot, how many different kinds there are, and why horned owls have horns. These are just a few of the 20 things you will can about those outrageous owls. Did you know owls save us money and that baby owls look like cotton balls? You can also learn how to make a fun owl from a paper bag and some leaves from this book. Laura Wyatt is a curator of wildlife at Flamingo Gardens in Davie, Florida. Laura cares for permanently injured and endangered Florida native wildlife and those that cannot be released to the wild.
