Seraphic Fire performs The Jew and The Gentile, a portrayal of the interconnected lives and epic work of Jewish composer Salamone Rossi and Catholic composer Claudio Monteverdi. Monteverdi, widely recognized as one of the towering figures of Classical music, worked with and greatly influenced Rossi, who rose to be recognized as the father of Jewish composition. Living long before a time of tolerance, Monteverdi and Rossi showed that music is truly a common language.
