BODY: Art, Health and Community Awareness

This event combines art, health and community awareness with the exhibition BODY, a collection of acrylic art paintings by local artist Mauricio Ferrer. The event will also have information on a variety of HIV and Hepatitis prevention programs offered by the Broward County Health Department and a special presentation by Rev. Father Alberto R. Cutié, as well as a performance by the musical -activist group 'Los Doctores'. 'This exhibition is dedicated to the thousands of men, women, transgender persons, youth and infants that have been infected or affected with by these devastating pandemics. My hope is that we can continue to search for more effective medical treatments and eventually a cure', said Mauricio Ferrer about his exposition. 'I want to create projects that help raise awareness and empower the community through knowledge and art,' he added.
