There are interpretive spaces that include the permanent Heritage Gallery, with its original chalkboard and wooden classroom desks as well as a wealth of photographers, memorabilia and displays which help to tell the story of early African American life in Broward County. There are other galleries that include The Minds-On, Hands-On Interactive Gallery which acquaints youngsters and adults alike with fascinating African, Caribbean, Native American and local artifacts and activities that celebrate our vibrant and diverse heritage. An extension of the permanent collection includes The Jazz Room which houses an extensive permanent educational exhibit. To learn about a significant part of history, drop by and make a day of it.
