The exhibit is now on display through June 30, 2010. Each quarter, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce has featured a new ArtServe visual artist. The purpose of these quarterly showings is to promote emerging community artists and further cultivate Fort Lauderdale's cultural climate. For viewing times please call 954-462-6000.=0D=0A=About the Artist: =0D=0A=A Florida resident, Tammy's watercolors reflect her environment with its incredible range of sun drenched colors and abundant wildlife. Her love of nature and conservationist philosophy, are bolstered by travels to our U.S. National Parks and abroad as expressed in her art.=0D=0A=Growing up with three brothers, their home became a refuge for birds, mice, snakes, ducks, rabbits, dogs, cats and a squirrel monkey. This kinship with wildlife and nature began at an early age and has been woven into her watercolors.=0D=0A=In her art Tammy creates the undersea world of sea turtles, nurturers of our oceans. Legends say that when the earth was covered with water, the turtle dove to the bottom of the ocean bringing up earth on its back so that the people could have a safe and dry home. So today turtles are at home anywhere in the sea as they carry their home on their backs.=0D=0A=The background technique for some of her undersea Art is created by webbing material, stretched and then saturated with vibrant liquid watercolors that showcase these masters of the sea.=0D=0A=Color has always intrigued her, and creating interesting combinations of color on YUPO, a synthetic plastic paper, has been a challenge and a delight. There is an excitement each time she starts a new painting or learns a new technique on this wonderful watermedia journey. =0D=0A=
