She will share her personal experiences of this tragic period in history. Lisl was born in Prauge, Czechoslovakia on May 7, 1926. She was forced to leave school soon after the German occupation of Czechoslovakia. In 1942, she was deported with her family to the Terezin Concentration Camp. In September 1943, her parents and her brother were taken from there to Aushwitz where they perished. When she came to the U.S. after the war, Lisl lived in Illinois and was a director of the Holocaust Memorial Foundation of Illinois. Now living in Florida, she has been intensely involved in Holocaust education, speaking in schools, universities, churches, and synagogues. In 2003, Lisl was recognized by the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center as the Speaker of the Year.
