 \nIt's been 20 years since the opening of Flamingo Gardens Free-flight Avi
 ary in September of 1991\, one of the first displays of its kind\, giving 
 a home to permanently injured Florida native birds. It boasts over 250 bir
 ds and over 45 species\, with the distinction of being the largest collect
 ion of Florida wading birds in the state. In the last 20 years the birds i
 n the Aviary have successfully bred close to 2000 birds which have been re
 leased back into the wild.\n\nFlamingo Gardens celebrates the Aviary's 20t
 h Anniversary with the Flamingo Gardens' Native Bird Festival on Labor Day
 . Florida native birds will be featured with a special guided tour of the 
 Aviary\, Raptor demonstrations\, and other bird presentations throughout t
 he gardens\, with special talks and lectures on birds and birding during t
 he day in the Gallery and a bird and wildlife Craft Show in the Courtyard.
  The highlight will be an exhibit about the Free-flight Aviary and its acc
 omplishments in the past twenty years.\n\nStart time: 9:30am to 4:30pm
