  Fort Lauderdale\, FL -- To celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month\,
  Girls' Club will host Art Fallout in collaboration with 1310 Gallery at S
 ailboat Bend Artist Lofts and 18 Rabbit Gallery as an occasion to support 
 the production and presentation of contemporary art in Downtown Fort Laude
 rdale. \n\nAll South Florida artists are invited to submit artworks to a o
 ne-day open-call visual art exhibition at Girls' Club\, at 117 NE 2nd Stre
 et\, held Saturday\, October 16th\, 2010\, from 5pm to 8pm. Works will be 
 received at Girls' Club Wed-Fri\, October 13-15\, from 1pm to 5pm. For a n
 ominal $5 per work fee\, all works are accepted and presented to the publi
 c for the one day exhibition event. A panel of prominent South Florida art
 s professionals will informally judge the works in the exhibition on their
  merits and the public is invited to give personal feedback to the artists
  via a system of handwritten messages. A fun way to connect artists and ar
 t enthusiasts\, perhaps inspiring individuals to start their own art colle
 ctions!\n\nSimultaneously\, neighboring artist spaces and galleries will j
 oin in and host their own exhibition openings and events. Look for the rou
 nd purple Fallout signs designating each location.\n\n18 Rabbit Gallery\, 
 a contemporary art exhibition space located in the F.A.T. Village Arts Dis
 trict\, will open 'Altered States'\, an exhibition about mind/body relatio
 nships\, their first in their new space located at 17 NW 5th Street. 1310 
 Gallery\, located in the Sailboat Bend Artists Lofts at 1310 SW 2nd Court\
 , presents &ldquo\;The Myth of Power&rdquo\;\, a group exhibit showcasing 
 innovative works by regional artists\, juried by artist Lisa Rockford. The
  Museum of Art/Fort Lauderdale at 1 E Las Olas Blvd. will be open that eve
 ning from 5pm-8pm with free admission. A free bus will operate from 5pm to
  9pm to transport attendees from one event space to the next. Free parking
  is available at: NW 1st Ave between NE 5th & NE 6th Streets in F.A.T. Vil
 lage and NE 2nd Avenue across from Girls' Club. \n\nArt Fallout will be an
  annual event\, and the organizers expect that it will ignite enthusiasm a
 nd bring together local artists and exhibition spaces so that they may dev
 elop new audiences for their works. Art aficionados will be pleased to dis
 cover the hotbed of creativity that is developing in Fort Lauderdale.\n\nA
  print flyer announcing the event\, map of Art Fallout sites\, and how to 
 participate will be widely distributed in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.

 mited edition t-shirt for Art Fallout 2010 will be available for sale that
  day at Girls' Club. The Art Fallout flyer and accompanying t-shirt featur
