 ce Art Exhibition 2010 Grand Opening on Thursday\, Feb. 4 from 6:30-8:30 p
 .m.\, FREE and open to the public. At a time when being black in Florida m
 eant being subjected to Jim Crow laws and limited opportunity\, 26 African
  American youths from the Fort Pierce/Vero Beach area broke the mold by fo
 rming a group of entrepreneurial artists that came to be known as the High
 waymen. These artists helped shape Florida's history and visual legacy by 
 creating more than 250\,000 oil paintings featuring the Sunshine State's b
 eautiful landscapes. A collection of these inspiring mid-20th century pain
 tings will be on view for FREE from Feb. 4 to April 10\, 2010 in the Secon
 d Floor Gallery of NSU's Alvin Sherman Library\, located on NSU's main cam
 pus at 3301College Ave. in Davie. The Feb. 4 opening reception will featur
 e hors d'oeuvres\, blues music\, and dance performances as well as the exh
