Dr. Terri Mitchell, a long-time Mentor for the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, is an accomplished flutist, a consummate musician and educator. She was just awarded the honor of being placed on the Fulbright Senior Specialist List, making her eligible to receive money from the federal government to teach in her field at institutions of higher learning in other countries. She received her Doctorate in Music from the University of Miami in 2003 where she received the Award for Academic Achievement. She is principal flutist with the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Ars Flores Orchestra. She is an adjunct Professor at Miami Dade College where she teaches flute lessons, Music Appreciation and Jazz and Pop and directs the Falcon Jazz Band. She plays chamber music with the Encore Chamber Ensemble as well as doing freelance work in the South Florida area. She also is the flutist for the Ars Flores V, the resident woodwind quintet of the Ars Flores Symphony.
